What should I expect when I come to Trinity?

If you’re checking out Trinity for the first time, you can expect a warm friendly place open to people from all different areas in life and different ethnic backgrounds. We’re not concerned about where you’ve been but where you’re going.

Our goal is to make you feel welcome from the moment you first enter the church. When you enter the building, you’ll find greeters available to help you find your way. If you have children, our ushers will show where our children sit for the opening song and children’s sermon if they are comfortable enough to do so.  They can also introduce you to our pastor who can help let you know which children’s group they would participate in if your child wants.  Our ushers can help you find a seat but feel free to help yourself to your own.  While a few members might like to think they own their pew, Trinity does not have reserved or assigned seating.  It is first come, first serve.

How should I dress?

Trinity’s only dress code is wear clothes. In other words you’ll see all styles of dress at Trinity, which means you should feel comfortable regardless of your attire. Come dressed as you like in a suit or in jeans.

What do I do with my children?

Trinity is a great place for kids of all ages. We have an amazing team of Children’s workers ready to minister to your kids from birth through middle school on Sunday mornings and youth group for high schoolers on Sunday nights.

Our children’s and nursery classes have been developed with your child’s security — and your peace of mind — at the forefront, which is why we require training and background checks on all persons ministering and teaching in our children’s ministry.

Your children will be cared for and taught by loving, trained volunteers. Please contact at pk@trinityoldtappan.com or (201) 664-5904 to discuss ways that your kids can be involved at Trinity from birth to high school.  For more information go to our Children & Youth page.

What is the service like?

A typical service at Trinity lasts about an hour. Worship is blended in style meaning music is a mix of traditional and contemporary.  The messages are practical and life-changing. We don’t believe church should be boring, so we include multimedia elements in most services. Please make yourself at home and participate as you feel comfortable.  For more information go to our Worship page.

Am I expected to participate in the offering?

No. We do not ask you to visit Trinity for your money. We want to be a blessing to you. We want you to experience the love of Christ, the friendly spirit, and the powerful message from God’s Word.  Please do not feel obligated to participate during the offering as a guest.
