CHILDREN & YOUTH

What do I do with my children?

Trinity is a great place for kids of all ages. We have an amazing team of Children’s workers ready to minister to your kids from birth through middle school on Sunday mornings, confirmation on Sunday afternoons, and youth group for high schoolers on Monday nights.  Please see our calendar for details.

What happens Sunday morning?

We all understand that some children are hesitant about new people and places, so please know that children are always welcome to stay in the sanctuary if that works better for you and your family.

For those who do want to participate, children come together in the front pews of the church at 9:25 to engage in worship that includes music and a children’s sermon.  At 9:45 the children leave the sanctuary with their teachers to go to their respective class rooms.  Whether you’re new or not, there’s no need to worry about what class your child should be in.  The pastor and/or teachers will work that out for you.  Finally, in the last 10 minutes (10:20), all the children congregate as one group to participate in a closing ritual and afterwards reunite with their families at coffee hour.

The class options are broken out as follows:

What about my child’s security?

Our children’s Sunday School and nursery classes have been developed with your child’s security — and your peace of mind — at the forefront, which is why we require training and background checks on all persons ministering and teaching in our children’s ministry.  Training received is called “Child Abuse Prevention Training: Hear Their Cries” by the Faith Trust Institute,  To learn more go to: www.cpsdv.org  Your children will be cared for and taught by loving, trained volunteers.
